Jummai Adamu Mohammed was born on 20th September 1961 to Alhaji Zanna Dikwa, a Civil Servant and Hajja Attahire, a full-time housewife, in Maiduguri, Borno State. She attended Central Primary School Damaturu from where she proceeded to Government Secondary School, Damaturu from 1973-1977. She came out with flying colours and proceeded to the University of Maiduguri where she obtained her first degree in History in 1982. Thereafter she proceeded to Jos where she served her mandatory National Youth Service. In her quest for further education, she obtained a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the Uiniversity of Lagos in 1998. Jummai joined the Federal Civil Service in 1987 and rose through the ranks of the Service from Grade Level 08 to Grade Level 17, a position she held with the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs as Director of Child Development since 2017 until she statutorily retired in September,2021. In her assignments, she had undertaken several courses both at home and abroad and attended several Workshops, Seminars, Conferences and training both at home and abroad. Also, in the course of her service to her nation, she received several awards which includes the prestigious Presidential Civil Service Merit Award in 2016, in recognition of her selfless meritorious service and diligence in the Federal Civil Service of the Federation. Mrs. Mohammed is a member of several professional associations and bodies and served as a Board member of many Federal Government Institutions while she was actively in service. ss Her Hobbies includes Reading and Helping the less privileged. Mrs. Mohammed is married with lovely children and grandchildren.
